The best AI voice cloning tool in 2026

Most voice and video tools now advertise cloning, but the clone often sits on a higher plan than the headline price. Check which tier unlocks it, whether it's an instant or a professional clone, and whether you may use the audio commercially.

The short answer.

Pick Descript if the clone lives inside your podcast editor, or HeyGen if it should speak for a video avatar.

Kapwing

Free · paid from $24/mo

Business ($64/mo) adds custom voice clones and lip-sync videos to a collaborative browser editor with 4,000 credits a month.

Where cloning costs extra

Some well-known voice tools keep cloning off the main plan: Murf's custom voice clones are an Enterprise add-on, and Speechify sells cloning pay-as-you-go through its API or the separate Speechify Studio product. If cloning is why you're buying, compare the price of the tier that includes it, and clone only your own voice or one you have permission to use.

§ FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Can I clone my voice for free?

Not with commercial rights in these tools. ElevenLabs Free covers TTS, music and sound effects without commercial use, and lists instant voice cloning from Starter; D-ID's voice clone and commercial license both start on Pro. HeyGen's free tier is a trial of 3 one-minute videos a month.

Instant or professional voice clone?

ElevenLabs offers both: an instant clone from Starter and a professional clone from Creator, with several Professional Voice Clones per workspace on Scale and Business.
