Qodo vs GitHub Copilot

These tools overlap only at the pull request. Qodo does one job: agentic code review that checks every PR against your team's rules, paid from a shared credit pool. GitHub Copilot is an in-IDE pair programmer, with completions, chat and agent mode, that also offers PR reviews. If you want code written, Copilot is the one built for that; if you want review against your team's own standards, that's Qodo's whole product.

§ Quick answer

The short answer.

Pick Qodo ($30/mo per team, not per user) if your team of up to 30 developers wants every PR reviewed against its coding rules. Pick GitHub Copilot (free, or $10/mo for Pro) if you want help writing code in VS Code, JetBrains and GitHub, with PR reviews as one part of it.

§ Verdict

Which one should you buy?

Pick Qodo if…

your team already writes code with other tools and wants consistent, rule-based review on every pull request.

Pick GitHub Copilot if…

you want an assistant that writes and completes code in your editor, with PR reviews included rather than bought separately.

Do the review math before buying Qodo

Qodo's entry pack is one price for the whole team, not per seat, but it covers about 18 reviews a month and unused credits don't carry over. A team opening more PRs than that will need the 5,000 or 20,000-credit packs, or overage at the same per-credit rate up to a cap you set. Count your monthly PRs first; for a small team with few PRs, a single shared pack can cost less than per-user Copilot Business seats, but it buys review only.

§ FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Is Qodo better than GitHub Copilot for code review?

Qodo is built only for PR review and lets you define unlimited rules for it. Copilot includes PR reviews alongside code generation, so it's the broader tool, while Qodo focuses on enforcing your team's standards.

Is Qodo priced per user?

No. Qodo Pro Team is $30/mo for a 2,500-credit pack shared across the team, not per user. Enterprise (30+ users) is sold through sales.

Does Qodo have a free plan?

No permanent free tier, only a 14-day trial. GitHub Copilot has a free plan with 2,000 completions a month.
